Selecting and building a long-term relationship with a Physio who you trust and connect with will make a huge difference to having a positive outcome from your treatment. Here are some things to consider when choosing a Physio.

1. Patient-centric approach

A patient-centric approach means the physiotherapist listens to your concerns, involves you in the treatment planning, and tailors the therapy to your specific needs and health concerns. At Restorativ Physiotherapy, we believe in a personalized approach to care rather than a set treatment approach and cadence based on your diagnosis. Our physiotherapists work closely with you to develop a treatment plan that aligns with your goals and needs.

2. Experience and specialization

The experience and specialization of your physiotherapist is critical. Look for a physiotherapist who has extensive experience in treating conditions similar to yours. At Restorativ Physiotherapy, all of our Physio’s have years of experience. Our lead physiotherapist, Rob Marshall, has experience across all Musculoskeletal concerns having worked in professional sports and private practice. He is also the preferred Physio for several Gold Coast Surgeons with patients located in the North Gold Coast (specifically for Knee and Shoulder Repairs). Aaditi Dhamnekar, has a special interest in women's health, back injuries and chronic pain across all patients with a focus on elder adults. Her expertise ensures that patients receive comprehensive and tailored care for their specific needs.

3. Treatment approach and duration

The duration of each session can impact the quality of care you receive. Longer appointments allow for a more thorough assessment and treatment. Restorativ Physiotherapy treatments typically last between 30 to 60 minutes depending on your needs. We don’t charge by set time periods but focus on the outcomes of the session. We always ensure there is time in your session to deliver a comprehensive evaluation and effective treatment. We see the best results when your treatment program is a combination of assessment, education, hands on treatment and home exercise program.

4. Funding and insurance

We accept all Health Funds, and in most cases, can process your claim at the time of your appointment, which means you only pay a gap fee. We are Member Choice Physios for Medibank, NIB (and its subsidiary insurance companies) and HCF, which means you will have less of a gap payment. Additionally, we take on patients through Medicare under the Chronic Disease Management (CDM/EPC) plan, which means you receive a rebate on your payment of around $60 per appointment (with provision of a valid GP referral). There is also no gap payment or requirement for you to pay in advance for any work related or CTP Claims, with the provision of a valid claim number through your GP.

5. Patient reviews and return rate

Patient reviews can offer valuable insights into the quality of care and patient satisfaction at a clinic. Restorativ Physiotherapy has only had 5 Star Reviews from our patients since we opened in December 2023. You can read our physio reviews on Google Maps to see what others have to say about their experiences with us. Most of patients return for ongoing treatment with their primary treating Physio, rather than booking one off treatment as needed. This is a testament to our patient centricity.
